SCHEDULE YOUR EXERCISE until it becomes as routine as brushing your teeth.
If you don't make time for exercise than you'll soon have to make time for illness.
We love this saying - "You don't find the time to exercise, you make the time to exercise".
Exercising is a lifelong habit for a healthy lifestyle not a quick fix to lose a few kilos.
Once you've started exercising, it's important to keep going because physical activity needs to be done on a regular basis to produce maximum benefits.
A Regular Part of Your Day -
One of the best ways to stay physically active is to make it a life-long habit. Set yourself up to succeed right from the start by seeking to make exercise a regular part of your day. When it becomes a normal part of your everyday routine, like brushing your teeth, then you'll be less likely to stop and will find it easier to start up again if you're interrupted for some reason. If you can stick with an exercise routine or physical activity for at least 6 months, it's a good sign that you're on your way to making physical activity a regular habit.
Here are a few ways to help you make exercise a regular part of your daily life.
Make it a priority Everyone is busy, schedule your exercise early in the morning if your day is looking out of control
Make it easy Nothing's simpler than going for a walk.
Make it safe Gradually build up if starting from a low fitness level
Make it social - catch up with a friend with a walk and talk instead of a cup of coffee or drink.
Make it interesting and fun -mix it up, try some different activities or sign up for fitness events
Make it an active decision.
