ARE YOU HYDRATED?

Are you drinking enough water?  A quick survey around the studio and classes, proved that you’re not.
Get into the healthy habit of hydrating your body.  When you wake up feeling tired and fatigued, 9 times out of 10 it’s because you are de-hydrated and it’s one of the easiest things to fix!

Before you rush off to local G.P. claiming symptoms of chronic fatigue try a regime of regular water drinking for 2 weeks.  We’ve listed below a CARDIAC SURGEON’S recommendation for the best times for drinking water.

You'll notice we keep in stock the product, ENDURA – Magnesium Rehydration Formula.  Avoid the common brand sports rehydration drinks which are full of sugar, colours and additives and we do not recommend using them. Do not give them to your kids either. They can use Endura too.

When you exercise regularly sometimes water does not seem to quench your thirst which is an indication you may be low on electrolytes.  This is why we use Endura.

WHY BOTHER TO DRINK WATER?
Take a moment to think of a plant.  What it looks like when you don’t water it. It shrivels up, becomes brittle and dry.  That’s what happens to the cells in your body.
Watch a plant recover when you water it. It springs to life, the leaves change and it looks ‘happy’.
Think of your body like a plant and keep it hydrated.

When you feel thirsty, you are already 30 percent dehydrated.

Staying hydrated is essential to flushing inflammation-causing toxins out of your body. Aim for 2 litres of water per day. Remember: Add an additional 250ml of water for every 30 minutes of exercise as well.

Overeating is usually a result of de-hydration.  The less water you drink the more carbohydrates you consume.  (Carbohydrates contain more moisture than fats or proteins).

 

2  litres of water a day will improve your concentration, increase your energy and curb your appetite.

 

THE CARDIAC SURGEON’S RECOMMENDATION FOR OPTIMUM TIMES TO DRINK WATER WHICH WILL INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS ON YOUR BODY.
1. AFTER WAKING – Drink 2 glasses of water to activate your internal organs
2. BEFORE EATING – Drink 1 glass of water to aid digestion

3. BEFORE HAVING A BATH – Drink 1 glass of water to lower your blood pressure
4. BEFORE GOING TO BED – Drink 1 glass of water to prevent night time leg cramps

So go now and drink a big glass of water!
