YES YOU CAN, 14KM RUN OR WALK?

WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED OVER WINTER TO KEEP UP YOUR FITNESS?
Give yourself a goal, a reason to train and keep up your fitness over winter.  For us, fitness has always been a part of our lives, as routine as brushing teeth, but for many of our clients and most of the population they need a reason to get up early and train, a goal to reach. 
We had great success with registrations for our 5km a day in May. Walking or Running at least 5km every day in May to raise money for the Cathy Freeman Foundation.  The team challenge held participants accountable to someone.  Having to report in with a Personal Log and entries for every day was incentive to walk or run the distance.  Not only were we raising money for a worthy cause, the 31 days would create a healthy habit. They didn't stop there and hang up their running shoes, we have had great news that many cannot go without their daily workout and have increased the distance. Deservedly, everyone wo participated, received a participation certificate and prizes awarded to various categories e.g most kms, most creative log, most interesting story. 

Our next challenge is our annual 14km Run or Walk on Sunday, 11th August, 2013.  Watch out Mosman! There will be a sea of red singlets heading your way.  It's the same day as City to surf, same distance as City to Surf without the crowds and without having to cross the bridge. It starts at 8am and our runners from last year's event completed the distance in under 1.5hrs, walkers approx. 2 hrs. We're raising money for the Heart Foundation, it's $25 to enter which includes a free running singlet and a training program to follow.  

The course starts and finishes at RANCAN SISTERS FITNESS, 5 BEST AVENUE, MOSMAN, 2088. 

TIME: 8.00AM

ARRIVE at 7.15AM for RACE BRIEFING.  Stretch and warm-up.  The course follows the harbourside tracks around Mosman.
